FAQ
The questions producers actually ask.
Legality, insurance, pricing, and delivery — answered straight. If your question isn't here, a pilot answers every brief within 24 hours.
Are drone flights over people legal at concerts and festivals?
Yes — when they're done correctly. We operate under FAA Part 107 with over-people waivers, category-compliant aircraft, written safety plans, and crowd cordons to fly legally above audiences when the venue and airspace allow it. Most operators don't hold these waivers — it's the single biggest difference between a drone pilot and an aerial production company. See our operations system or the concerts & festivals page.
Can you fly indoors — inside arenas, museums, and venues?
Yes. Indoor flight isn't FAA-regulated airspace, but it demands venue approval, crowd-safe aircraft, and a written safety case. We fly ducted cinewhoop-style drones with full propeller guards for smooth indoor fly-throughs in arenas, hotels, museums, activations, and branded spaces — meet the aircraft.
Can you fly at night?
Yes — we're certified for night operations with anti-collision lighting and night-specific procedures per FAA requirements. Headline sets, pyro moments, and night skylines are inside our operating envelope, not outside it.
Do you handle FAA filings, airspace, and permits?
All of it. Airspace review, LAANC authorizations, waiver documentation, and venue coordination happen in flight planning, days before anyone sees a drone. You get copies of everything for your production file.
Are you insured, and what coverage do you carry?
We carry commercial aviation liability insurance up to $10 million, covering live events and over-people operations. That's the tier venues, municipalities, and broadcast productions require — not the hobbyist minimum.
Can you issue a COI with our venue as additional insured?
Yes — Certificates of Insurance with additional-insured language for your venue or production entity are issued within 24 hours of request. Request a COI.
Can you provide what our legal team or league reviewers need?
Every operation includes a written risk assessment, waiver documentation, licensing paperwork, and COIs — the package venue counsel actually approves. We've been through the process at the NBA level. The full operations system.
How much does drone filming cost for an event or production?
It depends on location, complexity, airspace, and whether you need live feeds, multiple aircraft, or travel days. Most projects quote as a day-rate package with clear line items for prep, shoot, and travel. Send the brief and you'll have a feasibility read and budget range within 24 hours — start here.
What do you need from us to plan a flight?
A few basics go a long way: event date and location, schedule or run-of-show, desired shots, airspace constraints, and any house rules from the venue. From there we handle permits, planning, and safe flight profiles — how we work.
Where are you based, and do you travel?
We're based in Orange County, California and work nationwide — we frequently travel for concerts, festivals, tours, sports, and branded events across the U.S. Travel details are built into our quotes.
What kind of projects do you specialize in?
High-energy, high-stakes productions: concerts and festivals, stadium and arena events, live broadcast, brand campaigns and commercials, venue and indoor tours, and cinematic fly-throughs — the complex operations most drone operators can't take on. See the work.
Do you provide live streaming, IMAG, or broadcast feeds?
Yes — we regularly feed FPV cameras into LED walls, broadcast trucks, and IMAG systems, delivered as SDI or NDI with latency and routing coordinated with your technical team. Flown live at EDC Las Vegas and NBA games at Intuit Dome.
What cameras and drones do you fly?
Six aircraft systems, built and tuned in-house: the DJI Inspire 3 cinema drone, Mavic 4 Pro, guarded sub-250 g platforms for over-people flight, custom X8 cinelifters carrying RED cinema cameras, 5–7 inch FPV rigs with GoPro, and ducted indoor cinewhoops. Explore the fleet.
How fast do you deliver footage?
Scoped to your production: same-night social cuts for live events where the moment matters, organized raw for your post team, and color-graded masters on an agreed timeline. Files arrive labeled, graded or S-Log — ready for the edit.
